One way you can help the P.T.O. provide our children with “extras” during the school year, is to contribute to any of the following funds in recognition of a special person or event:
SUNSHINE FUND ($5 minimum donation) ‑ These funds will be used to purchase additional equipment for the classrooms or playground to supplement existing equipment.
LIBRARY FUND ($5 minimum donation) ‑ These funds will be used to increase and upgrade the books and audio/visual resources in our library.
MIDDLE SCHOOL FUND ($10 minimum donation) – Donations to this fund will be matched dollar for dollar through PEJE (Partnership for Excellence in Jewish Education). Proceeds from the fund will be used toward the establishment and operation of our middle school.
TREE FUND ($15 donation) ‑ A tree will be planted in Israel, a beautiful certificate from the Jewish National Fund will be sent. The profit will be used to increase our computer software resources.
We also welcome contributions to the memorial funds listed below. Monies donated to all these funds are used for the enhancement of all school programs and the new building.
RACHEL NEUFELD ARTS IN EDUCATION FUND ($18 minimum donation)
This fund is to be used for special programs and guests to enhance our school’s curriculum in the arts.

SCHWEITZER MEMORIAL MIDDLE SCHOOL FUND
($10 minimum donation) –
Donations to this fund will be matched dollar for dollar through PEJE (Partnership for Excellence in Jewish Education). Proceeds from the fund will be used for special programs in our middle school.
LAUREN
NACHMANI MEMORIAL LIBRARY FUND
($5 minimum
donation)
This fund was
set up in memory of Lauren, an SSDS student, to raise funds for the Early
Childhood Library in the new building. These
funds will go directly to create and maintain the Early Childhood section of the
new library.
NATHAN KASTEN FUND ($5 minimum donation)
LORRAINE CHALAL MEMORIAL FUND ($5 minimum donation)
A beautiful card or certificate will be sent out to the recipient and the donation will be recognized in the weekly SSDS Newsletter, unless otherwise requested. Just complete a coupon from the attached sheet and send it to the school with your check payable to “SSDS-PTO”. Please write a separate check for either of the Middle School Funds.
